stack of Vogue magazines

Fashion, beauty, lifestyle and homewares brands, it’s time for the next instalment of Vogue Online Shopping Night – here’s everything you need to know.

In just two weeks’ time, consumers can shop from midday on Tuesday 14th September to midnight on Wednesday 15th September for 36 hours, in the well-renowned Vogue Online Shopping Night

Vogue Online Shopping Night: an overview

Presented by American Express, Vogue Online Shopping Night (VOSN) celebrates the best that the fashion, beauty, and lifestyle sectors have to offer. This event is an opportunity for fashion fans to browse and shop exclusive discounts with some of their favourite brands. Occurring twice annually in April and September, VOSN kicks off at midnight and lasts for less than 48 hours, giving shoppers just enough time to bag themselves some fashion and lifestyle must-haves for the upcoming season, all at discounted rates.

Vogue’s reputation alone makes this a staple in any fashionista’s calendar and is definitely one for these sector-specific brands to get involved with.

What’s the appeal for students?

Vogue Online Shopping Night houses some of the biggest fashion brands renowned for targeting the young consumer demographic, including ASOS, Levi’s, Nasty Gal, Sheridan and Net-A-Porter – you can guarantee Gen Z will be ready and waiting for this event to roll around each year.

After a year like 2020, this year’s event is coming at an exciting time for students; semester two has kicked off and springtime is in bloom. For many, this means a new wardrobe is in sight, as well as a few treats to make up for lockdown life this time last year.

Tapping into the trends

Covid has changed many things in the last few months – including the way we shop. This year, Gen Z’s concerns for climate change may play a bigger role in their purchasing power than you think. If you’re a brand with a sustainable offering, be sure to place this front and centre when taking part in events like VOSN – to make your products more accessible and affordable to financially-savvy Gen Z consumers.

Social media is a great way to interact with young consumers – and make your offers known ahead of time. Instagram and TikTok are great platforms to post creative brand content. But remember – Gen Zs are a big fan of authentic content and messaging, so consider using real Gen Z students in your content to drive peer-to-peer engagement.
