What are the different types of Connect integration?
Our student verification tool is called Connect. There are 3 types of Connect integrations, depending how your brand is set-up and where you want to offer your student discount.You can choose from: 1) Website, 2) App and 3) In-store
How does your verification technology Connect work?
Connect can integrate seamlessly with your website, app or store. Once integrated, when a student wants to redeems your offer, Connect will securely verify their student status in real-time then they’ll be able to proceed with their purchase using a discount code / verified status.
What is your pricing model?
Our pricing plans are usage-based- you can choose between:‘Starter’- £0 license fee + commission* (up to 30 verifications per calendar month), ‘Growth’ (up to 100 verifications per calendar month) £99 monthly license fee +commission* or ‘Custom’ (custom pricing and number of verifications per calendar month) *Commission is dependant on whether you’re part of an approved affiliate network. For brands part of an affiliate network, commission is tracked via your affiliate network (CPA). Brands on our Starter plan are charged 10% commission on all verified transactions and brands on our Growth plan are charged 8% on all verified transactionsAlternatively, for brands not part of an affiliate network, commission is based on number of verifications per calendar month (CPV). Brands on our Starter plan are charged £1 per verification for the first 30 then charged £1.50 per extra verification. Brands on our Growth plan are charged £0.50 per verification for the first 100 then charged £1 per extra verification
What is a ‘verification’?
A ‘verification’ = each unique individual that verifies their student status per calendar month. This means an individual can verify their student status multiple times per calendar month to redeem an offer but will only count as one verification
What happens if I exceed the maximum number of verifications in my plan?
If you’re on our Starter plan and exceed over 30 verifications in a calendar month, you will be charged £1.50 per extra verification.If you’re on our Growth plan and exceed over 100 verifications in calendar month, you will be charged £1 per extra verification.Alternatively, you can upgrade to the next plan at anytime to avoid incurring overages.
After completing the sign-up form, you will automatically click through to a payment page. You will need to select a pricing plan to set-up payment via Stripe. For brands on our CPA pricing model, your license fee will be paid via direct debit and your monthly commission will be paid via your approved affiliate network. For brands on our CPV pricing model, your license fee and monthly commission will automatically be paid via the direct debit.
What is the process to join Student Beans?

What information do I need to get set up?
- During sign-up, you will simply need to share your contact details, basic brand information, monthly traffic volume and details of your student discount such as the % discount you want to offer and in which country
- For payment, you will need to securely set up a Direct Debit via Stripe
- During onboarding, you will need to share some brand details (category, list of domains) and assets with us such as your brand logo and a few lifestyle images representative of your brand for us to create your store listing on Student Beans website and app. You will also need to share details of your offer including any T&C’s and a .csv file of min 250 single use discount codes per country your offer will be available in (depending on your chosen redemption method)
What happens during onboarding? How long does it take?
During onboarding, our support team will send you detailed integration instructions – there are only 3 or 4 steps you need to follow depending on the type of Connect integration you choose. Onboarding should take no more than an hour. Our support team will also request and collect a list of assets to create your discount listing on the Student Beans app and website.
Do I need to be part of an affiliate network to sign-up?
No, you are not required to be a part of an affiliate network to join Student Beans and use our plug and play solution Connect to start running your own discount program.If you already use one of our 120+ approved affiliate networks then you can sign-up to one of our pricing plans with commission tracked via your affiliate network (CPA). Commission will be charged based on verified transactions- % dependant on the pricing plan you choose. If you are not part of an affiliate network / offering in-store discount only then you can sign-up to one of our pricing plans with commission based on number of verifications per calendar month (CPV). Unit cost of verifications dependant on the pricing plan you choose.
What if my affiliate network is not on the approved list?
If the affiliate network you use is not on the list then we’re unable to track commission via your affiliate network. Instead commission will be based on number of verifications per calendar month (CPV). Unit cost of verifications dependant on the pricing plan you choose.
What if I’m a brand that wants to offer student discount in-store only?
For brands that only have stores or want to offer student discount in-store only, you would need to integrate with our in-store Connect. Our pricing model for in-store Connect is one licence fee to use our verification technology plus commission based on number of verifications (CPV)A ‘verification’ = each unique individual that verifies their student status per calendar month. This means an individual can verify their student status multiple times per calendar month to redeem an offer but will only count as one verification
If I decide I don’t want to run my student discount program any more, how do I cancel?
If you no longer want to run your own student discount program, you can cancel your Connect integration at anytime
Can I promote an offer on my website or my mobile app or in my stores?
Using our verification tool Connect, you can run a discount offer on your website, app or in-store. If you want to run an offer across multi-platforms, you will need to choose a pricing plan per platform.
What consumer groups can I set-up offers for?
By signing up to Student Bean and using our verification technology Connect, you can run offers across these consumer groups: Student, Graduates, Health service*, First responders*, Military*, Teachers*, Parents* and Disability*.Please note: Consumer groups marked with an * are available in UK, US, AU, CA & IE only and if you’re running a discount in-store or app, you can only run an offer for Students only.
I just want Student Beans to promote my offer. How do I make that happen?
When you have signed up and onboarded with Student Beans, your store listing and discount will be added to the Student Bean website and app. Raise awareness of your brand and discount and drive traffic to your listing via your own media channels or enquire about our media options
What results can I expect?
Our conversions varies by market and sector; however our brands typically deliver a 25% conversion rate from sessions to code redemptions and a 15% conversion rate from code redemption to transactions

How do you ensure the exclusivity of the discount code and prevent it from being widely spread?
With our verification technology, we verify a student’s status from the established, direct integrations we have with academic institutions. Our systems check the user’s selected institution in real-time to confirm they’re in fact a student.Once verified on the Student Beans App, our Connect tool facilitates the redemption of your offer by revealing a code for the student to complete their purchase via your website, app, or by revealing their Student Beans ID to complete their purchase in-store.
What is the amount of discount that is typically offered?
There’s a wide range of offers available for students on Student Beans, so whether you want to offer a discount of 5% or 95% you can do so. For the launch of your discount program, we recommend offering an exclusive discount for students and testing between at least a 10 – 20% discount. You can change your offer at any time by emailing your Customer Support contact who will be there to take you through your onboarding.
