Coined as the non-explicit alternative to ‘OnlyFans’, Fanfix is the latest content creator marketplace making waves for Gen Z. And if you haven’t heard of it, it’s definitely time to get familiar, as it’s rapidly growing in popularity.

With the creator marketing industry currently worth $104.2 billion and continuing to grow, we’re seeing Gen Z scrambling for ways to monetize their social networks. And who can blame them? The media is awash with articles about people earning huge stacks of cash, thanks to platforms like OnlyFans and Patreon.

What is Fanfix exactly?

Aimed at Gen Z content creators with a modest 10,000+ social following, Fanfix helps creators to earn a recurring income through monthly subscriptions for exclusive behind-the-scenes content.

One standout rule applies – no nudity or explicit content allowed.

Creators and influencers upload photos and videos for their ‘fans’ to engage with that’s gated by a monthly subscription paywall. How much the creators charge is completely up to them – they’re given complete autonomy to set their own subscription costs. 

Fans who enjoy what they see can also ‘tip’ the creator an unset amount. Plus, additional cash can be made through the ‘tip-to-DM’ feature – allowing creators to set a pay-per-message cost for fans who want to contact them directly. Fanfix takes a 20% cut of what these creators make – giving influencers a cool 80% profit. 

What’s in it for the fans?

Fans can sign-up to the platform for free, add their payment details and start browsing for creators to subscribe to. They’re able to search for content and creators within specific niches by using keyword searches and engage with the wider fan community.

Similarly to platforms like OnlyFans and Patreon, fans are given a direct – and personal – way to monetarily support their favourite content creators whilst being given exclusive content, content early releases and direct interaction with the creators themselves in exchange.

Why Gen Z LOVES Fanfix

First and foremost, it’s a great way for them to supplement their income. According to TechCrunch, Fanfix has paid out over $11 million to creators so far, with the average annual income for active creators sitting at a whopping $70,000.

The ban on NSFW (not safe for work) explicit or illegal content is a huge draw for Gen Zers compared to other platforms such as Patreon and OnlyFans. Fanfix heavily focuses on its attempt to safeguard both the creators and fans by human-moderating the entire platform; hence the slightly higher than usual commision. 

This aims to prevent unwarranted explicit messages and requests, keeping the platform free of users who may be looking to exploit creators and making it a safer space for its wide spectrum of users.

Lastly, one of the big bonuses of Fanfix for Gen Z creators is the analytics element. This enables creators to track their stats, monthly income, subscriber counts and so much more – taking the guesswork out of how their content is truly performing. It’s also a handy tool for creators to showcase to brands how their content performs to help them secure lucrative brand partnerships.

What brands need to know about Fanfix

You can breathe a sigh of relief: branded content from creators is allowed on Fanfix. Although, brands themselves aren’t welcome on the platform.

And just because these influencers and creators have much of their content behind a paywall – that doesn’t mean their following is out of bounds for brands. These creators in particular have a strong relationship with their close knit audiences – built on a foundation of exclusivity, trust and authenticity. This means when a Fanfix creator talks about your brand, their fans are much more likely to listen up and take note.

Brands can use the Fanfix creator opportunity to invest in brand building with the hard-to-reach Gen Z audiences. The exclusivity of the Fanfix community means brand mentions and promotions will be seen as a credible endorsement by creators.
