Student Beans named one of the “Best Places to Work for Women”

It’s no secret that we’re very proud of our culture – with initiatives across the board to make Student Beans a genuinely great place to work.

So it means the world to us to announce that we have been included in Great Place To Work’s list of Great Places to Work for Women. Our ranking is a result of our participation in the largest survey of workplace cultures and people practice. We ranked among fellow medium-sized businesses and organizations, with the responses from our female-identifying employees shaping our result.

“Coming here was like a breath of fresh air”, says Account Manager Izzy Cowan. “The level of support and encouragement I receive on a daily basis from my manager and team is amazing, and it’s given me the confidence I was previously lacking.”

“As Student Beans continues to grow, we’ve taken great strides to ensure that our commitment to our people remains a central focus”, says Rachel Harris, People Advisor at Student Beans.

“We want everyone to feel that they belong”, adds Joan Tanous, Workplace and Communications Executive. ”47% of our workforce identifies as female – and we’re highly dedicated to supporting them in their lives and careers.”

Supporting women at work: putting it into action

 Some recent highlights include:

  • Acquiring the status of endometriosis friendly employer in March – committing to supporting all employees who have the condition, which affects one in 10 people assigned female at birth. We have internal endo champions, an endo support channel and to underpin it all, flexi time and sick leave options.

  • Our enhanced new parent schemes – which gives all parents the opportunity to feel supported across all of our territories, with support ranging from financial provisions to robust flexible working arrangements.

  • Our ongoing celebration of all genders and sexualities, which was heightened during June 2021 as we joined many others in celebrating pride month. Over a four-week period, we focused on education on allyship, black pride, representation and trans issues.

  • General wellbeing initiatives for employees of all genders and backgrounds including flexible working options, wellness allowance and Mental Health First Aiders.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Check out our full “Great Places To Work” profile for more.
