Day in the Life of a Product Manager at Student Beans

In this blog, we hear from Product Manager Rachel Taber about a typical day in life at Student Beans.

7.30 am

Wake up, take a ginger shot, wash my face, and do some light yoga. Breakfast is usually porridge, and as an American I’m a huge fan of peanut butter porridge!

9 am

Start my workday with a coffee and my cat on my desk. I always begin by looking at data to see if there are any anomalies for our product, Connect. I then updated my goals on Lattice and check to see if any bugs have been reported.

10 am

I join my team for our daily standup to hear about the progress on their tickets and see if there are any blockers.

The rest of my morning was spent trying to discover the cause for one of the data anomalies in Looker, our data tool, along with a couple of meetings. I made a French press and had a snack.

12 pm

I met with the Verification gals for a catchup, then headed out for a quick walk and a green juice for lunch.

Post-lunch

I met with my team for our backlog review, to make sure our ‘to do’ list is spick and span for the coming weeks. Then I met with my product designer, Chris, to discuss upcoming projects and then worked on validating them using Contentsquare, our product analytics tool.

End of day

I end the day by working on our BeansID Portal project and catch up on any Slack messages!

7 pm

I throw on some gym clothes and do some Pilates. I finish the day as I finish most weekdays – dinner, a shower, and some Netflix.

We have ambitious goals and a thrilling journey ahead, so we’re looking for driven, creative people to join our fast-growing team. Please visit our careers site to see current openings.
