Brand Partners | 6 Top Tips for a Speedy Onboarding

So you’re ready to get your Student Beans discount sorted, congratulations! In order to get you up and running with shoppers rushing to your brand to access their great deals as soon as possible, we’re here to share our top tips for a speedy onboarding process.

In this blog post, we’ll share six of our top tips to help you go live. From brand description inspiration to imagery advice, check it out below…

Top tips for a speedy Student Beans onboarding

1. Notify your tech team ahead of time

Requesting codes and building landing pages takes time, so give your teams as much warning as possible.

2. Perfect your brand description

The Student Beans Marketplace is your target audience’s go-to for all things student discount. This is often the first place students visit before making a purchase – so you really want to make sure your listing stands out from the crowd.

In your brand description, make sure you highlight your core message to your consumer group. What special promotions are you offering and why do you love them?

And remember, we’ll need a few key details about your brand, including:

  • The category your brand falls into
  • What other brands you stock in your ecommerce store (if applicable)
  • What student discount you’ll be offering – more on this later!

3. Be clear on your offer description and T&Cs

Here are our guidelines for perfecting your offer descriptions on the Student Beans Marketplace:

  • Offer title → Show exactly what offers are available in the simplest and most direct manner. For example: 10% student discount. Be sure not to overcomplicate things!
  • Offer subtitle → Use your subtitles to share essential information to help shoppers decide on the discount. This includes important exclusions, inclusions, or conditions. For example: ‘When you buy a meal’. Only use this space to share how valuable this offer is to shoppers and not for more information on T&Cs.
  • Offer description → Call out where the discount is exclusive to Student Beans and any helpful information on how shoppers can use the discount. For example: ‘Show your Student Beans iD in store’.
  • T&Cs →  Be clear in specifying any exclusions and terms and conditions of use. Make sure this is visible as soon as possible (before any ‘Read more’ buttons) – you don’t want to let down any shoppers who don’t make it beyond the ‘Read more’ button, who only discover important T&Cs during checkout!

4. Make sure imagery is relevant

Keep your imagery relevant and change it up regularly to make sure that it stands out – you don’t want it getting lost in a sea of familiarity! Select images that are in line with seasonality, reflecting your target consumer group (whether that’s students, key workers or graduates), and representing what you’re discounting at that specific time.

Once you’re live, we have loads of information on our blog about how you can optimise your discount pages.

5. Make your offer clear…and competitive

Make sure your student discount is equivalent to (or higher than) any other discounts available to students. Boosting your discount at launch lets consumers know that you seriously value them – and it helps you get ahead of your competitors!

6. Get those translations ready – if needed!

If you’re planning on going live in other markets, make sure you’ve got your translations at the ready – again, these things can take time.

And there’s more where that came from! For new and existing clients, you can speak to your Account Manager at any time for more information and top tips.
